Meet Kristine Benevento
Welcome!
I'm Kris Benevento—author, speaker, course creator, and founder of Centaur Publishing LLC and Centaur Courses LLC.
Everything I create begins with one simple belief: stories can change lives.
Whether I'm writing a children's book, sharing a true story, teaching a course, speaking at an event, or sitting across from someone who is grieving, my goal remains the same: to help people discover hope, embrace courage, and recognize the extraordinary value within themselves and others.
I believe love never dies. I believe every life has purpose. I believe our greatest hardships often become the beginning of our greatest growth. And I believe that when one person heals, families, communities, and future generations benefit.
My own journey has taken me through profound love, heartbreaking loss, public service, emergency management, spiritual study, and years of walking beside people during some of life's most difficult moments. Those experiences shape every book I write, every course I teach, and every conversation I have.
I am the author of Home Is Where the Heart Is: An ABC Baseball Book, Buttercup the Brave, and A New Baby at Happy Gates Ranch. A fourth children's book, Forever Dominic, is currently in development. My stories have also appeared in five Chicken Soup for the Soul books, where I share true stories of love, resilience, grief, and hope.

This series explores psychic phenomena, love, loss, healing, and the courage to become who we were always meant to be.
Through Centaur Courses, I develop educational programs, coach individuals, and host events that help people get back to basics, understand who they are at their core, help navigate grief, build resilience, strengthen relationships, and create lives filled with greater meaning and purpose.
My conferences, like A Journey From Grief Toward Joy, bring together respected voices to encourage, educate, and inspire those walking through loss.
I believe the world changes one person at a time. Every act of kindness matters. Every story has the power to open a heart. Every conversation has the potential to change a life.

Grief Resources
Grief entered my life long before I became a widow.
As a firefighter, EMT, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program Director, emergency management professional, and longtime volunteer alongside internationally recognized spiritual teacher and medium Rosemary Altea, I witnessed people facing some of life's most difficult moments. Those experiences taught me that while every loss is unique, every grieving heart deserves compassion, honesty, and hope.
When my husband, Mike, passed in 2021 after nearly thirty-three years together, my understanding of grief became deeply personal. I no longer spoke only from experience helping others—I was walking the path myself.
Today, I create books, courses, articles, and events to help people understand grief, discover practical ways to move forward, and recognize that healing doesn't mean leaving love behind. I believe our relationships continue beyond physical death, even though they change form. My goal isn't to tell people how to grieve. It's to help them discover that joy and purpose can exist alongside the love they will always carry.
